The field of Tax Technology has become increasingly important to us in recent years and we pride ourselves in identifying individuals who have the ability to bridge the gap between IT and taxation. We have recently assisted in-house tax functions in hiring both stand-alone roles as well as multiples hires for dedicated tax technology and process improvement teams. We also work with a wide range of consultancy businesses from boutique, specialist firms that specialise in improving tax compliance processes through the optimisation of ERP systems and Tax Engine implementations, to international consultancy businesses with dedicated tax technology teams.

Much of the growth within this field has been driven by increased public and governmental awareness of tax non-compliance; tax Authorities across Europe are in the process of implementing new indirect tax reporting systems that enable the real-time supply of information and facilitate corporate assistance in processes such as tax audits. Additionally, developing technologies, such as Blockchain, will further facilitate the trend of increased transparency and accountability. Tax technology impacts all areas of tax however, the biggest hiring trends have been across indirect tax, corporate tax, and transfer pricing; we have hired individuals across all levels, from those who are looking to make their first move into this field, to already recognised tax technology experts.
